Stand-alone

This stand-alone one-off workshop is aimed at those considering training as a coach. It will also be suitable for those who want to use coaching skills in helping roles. It is not compulsory to attend this course in order to progress to our Level 4 or Level 5 coaching courses. However you will find it helpful and you can offset the cost of this course against future training. (see fees and costs tab)

    Course fee: £125

    This can be credited towards the cost of the Level 4 or Level 5 coaching courses, if you progress to one of these courses with us.

    Our tutor

    Maria Scholes is a humanistic integrative counsellor, coach, and supervisor. She has been delivering psychoeducational and personal development training for 15 years and is also experienced in delivering CPCAB Level 2-6 counselling and coaching courses.

    She has been working in private practice for 9 years and previously worked as therapist within the NHS, community counselling settings and the charities sector. Qualifying as a coach has seen Maria’s private practice grow because increasingly more clients are seeking a dual skill set.

    Maria is passionate about coaching informed by positive psychology and has a special interest is resilience and positive ageing coaching. She is a registered member of the BACP and the Association for Coaching and the Positive Psychology Guild.

    Level 4

    For those who have not qualified as counsellors and wish to progress to qualify as coaches, the progression is to our Level 4 120 hour Diploma in Coaching course.

    Level 5

    For those qualified counsellors wishing to further develop their coaching skills and knowledge there will be progression to our 90-hour CPCAB Level 5 Certificate in Coaching for Counsellors course.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Can I do this workshop if I haven't done any training yet?

    This course anticipates an understanding of humanistic skills and theory and therefore is only open to those who have studied (or are studying) a course at or equivalent to at least CPCAB Level 3. If in doubt, please email us or call and we'll let you know.

    I'm doing Level 3 Counselling Studies and wondering about becoming a Coach. Can I apply?

    This course is ideal for those who are a year or two into their counselling training and thinking of switching to become Coaches. You will find out about the Level 4 Diploma in Coaching that we offer, and have time to decide which qualification you prefer.

    What if I'm already doing a Level 4 Diploma?

    If you're already studying at Level 4 you can still attend, to find out about the routes to learning Coaching post qualification. Once you have your Level 4 qualification you can join us at Level 5. The workshop is useful for those interested in the Level 5 course.

    What if I'm already a qualified counsellor?

    If you are already a qualified counsellor you can still take this course as it works as an introduction to our Level 5 Coaching courses.
