Extend your practice as a Coach

This Coaching for Counsellors course is a 90 hour Level 5 Certificate aimed at qualified counsellors who wish to start coaching clients. It leads to a tailor-made CPCAB coaching qualification.

Humanistic Principles This course will support counsellors who operate from a humanistic or integrative perspective. We incorporate coaching techniques aimed at broadening and enhancing practice, whilst at the same time upholding foundational humanistic principles. Carl Rogers' Core Conditions form the key tenets of these principles :
  1. Authenticity in Relationship: Counsellors must be genuine and congruent, fostering an environment of trust and openness.
  2. Respect for Client's Resources and Potential: It is crucial to belive in the client's inherent ability to initiate and sustain change. The approach discourages dependency on an 'expert' or an external locus of evaluation. Instead it promotes the client's self-directed growth.
Course Content The course covers the following:
  • Ethical, legal and professional issues including assessment and contracting
  • Integrative theoretical perspectives
  • Difference and diversity issues
  • Creative skills and techniques
  • Research findings
  • Understanding of mental wellbeing and human flourishing in the context of coaching
  • Reflective practice and self-care
