Learn to Listen: Salisbury
Learn how to be an effective listener
We are delighted to offer this one-day learn to listen short course, that can bring benefits to relationships with friends, at home and in the workplace. When you learn to listen you discover how much people are not saying, and you really strengthen your communication skills. You also start to learn about your own blocks to listening. The self-awareness achieved by doing this can be invalauable. Guided by our friendly qualified tutor, you will learn and practice listening and communication skills, in a group setting. You can find out more about starting a career as a counsellor and ask our tutor any questions you may have. Please bring your own lunch and refreshments. A certificate of attendance will be emailed after the event.
Outcomes
By the end of the day you will:
- Recognise the challenges of effective listening
- Learn the differences between empathy, sympathy and pity
- Be able to demonstrate paraphrasing
- Identify common blocks to listening
- Have an awareness of your own blocks to listening
- Understand the progression to Level 2 and beyond
