This course is aimed at qualified counsellors who wish to start coaching clients. The 24-hour course is informed by the core coaching competencies of the BACP Coaching Competence Framework 2023.

The objectives are that upon completion of the course participants will be able to:

  • define coaching and recognise how it differs from counselling
  • assess and contract for coaching
  • understand the coach-client relationship
  • recognise differing models and frameworks for coaching
  • recognise the contribution of theories of motivation, change, positive psychology and wellbeing/flourishing contribute to effective coaching
  • use core coaching skills

For those wishing to further develop their coaching skills and knowledge there will be progression to our 90-hour CPCAB Level 5 Certificate in Counselling for Counsellors course (subject to approval by CPCAB).

Course fee: £250

Maria Scholes is a humanistic integrative counsellor, coach, and supervisor. She has been delivering psychoeducational and personal development training for 15 years and is also experienced in delivering CPCAB Level 2-6 counselling and coaching courses.

She has been working in private practice for 9 years and previously worked as therapist within the NHS, community counselling settings and the charities sector. Qualifying as a coach has seen Maria’s private practice grow as increasingly more clients seek a dual skill set.

Maria is passionate about coaching informed by positive psychology and has a special interest is resilience and positive ageing coaching. She is a registered member of the BACP and the Association for Coaching and the Positive Psychology Guild.

Can I apply for this course if I have not yet started my Level 4 Diploma course?

Once you have completed the first term of your Level 4 Diploma course, you will be eligible to apply for this course.
