CPCAB Level 5 Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic Skills and Theory

This is a Level 5 Diploma course leading to a nationally recognised counselling qualification.

The course is specifically designed to assist counsellors who currently work from a humanistic orientation and who wish to integrate CBT skills and theory into their client work without compromising their underpinning principles of practice. These principles include the importance of Rogers’ core conditions, being authentic in relationship and respecting the client’s own resources and potential for change without the need for an ‘expert’ or external locus of evaluation.

Course content will include reference to the Stepped Care Psychological Therapy Services Model within the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service delivery model within the NHS, the recommendations of the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) and the accreditation requirements of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
